We collect the minimum amount of data required to verify uniqueness:

Mobile Numbers: Collected exclusively for OTP verification to prevent duplicate voting.
Email Addresses (Optional): Collected only if you choose to receive a verified badge.
Demographics: Age group, gender, and district/constituency selection are collected for statistical aggregation.
Technical Data: IP addresses and device fingerprints are temporarily logged to prevent automated bot spam and rate-limit abuse.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used entirely for the operation of the AssamPolls platform. Specifically:

To verify that you are a real human voter and limit submissions to 1 opinion per verified phone number.
To aggregate public sentiment trends across constituencies.

3. What We Will NEVER Do

We will never sell your personal data or phone number to any third party, political party, candidate, or marketing agency.
We will never publicly display your phone number or email address.
We will never use your contact information to send unsolicited political campaign messages.

4. Data Anonymization

Once your vote is cast and your OTP is verified, your opinion is stored anonymously. When generating live statistics and trends, we only query raw aggregated numbers. Individual voting choices cannot be traced back to your identity on the public dashboard.

5. Data Deletion & Your Rights

You have full ownership of your data. If you wish to have your vote and associated verified mobile number completely scrubbed from our database at any time, you can request an immediate deletion by directly emailing admin@assampolls.com. Your records will be purged within 48 hours.

6. Security

We employ enterprise-grade security including CSRF protection, AES encryption, reCAPTCHA v3 bot protection, and strict rate-limiting to ensure our ecosystem is tamper-proof.
